15.6.2018

A fumigating plane owned by the Apacsa Company hit an electric lighting cable with its right wing destabilizing it and sending it crashing to the ground leaving it half destroyed among banana plants.

The incident occurred on June 13th near 12:00hrs at a banana plantation in the Sabalucal sector in the province of El Oro in Ecuador an hour after the aircraft had taken off.

The pilot was not seriously injured however he had to receive medical assistance.

The damage to the electric transmission line caused by the crashing of the aircraft caused the service to be cut throughout the area of El Guabo, even including towns in the Camilo Ponce Enríquez district where there are extensive banana plantations.
