Ports of Ecuador Maintain Normal Operations During Covid-19

15.5.2020

The Guayaquil Port Authority (APG) reported that the ports under its administrative supervision; that is, that of the Liberator Simón Bolívar and Posorja continue to provide prompt and timely service at all levels.

According to the APG, concessionaires Contecon and Andipuerto and delegate DP World Posorja have implemented various measures for the health of workers and officials who have direct contact with carriers and port operators.

Actions include hand disinfection, temperature control and fumigation of the different areas owned by the companies, with the aim of preventing the spread of the coronavirus in the port.

Heavy cargo vehicles that transit products through public port terminals are constantly disinfected to maintain the country's import-export operations.

The APG also highlighted that all the ports of Ecuador are applying sanitary security measures, issued by the Undersecretariat of Ports and Maritime and Fluvial Transport, "Protocol for Cleaning and Disinfection of Maritime Transport Units, Port Entities, Private Terminals and others Public And Private Port Facilities”, with the aim of preventing coronavirus infections.
