Alliance between the Ministry of Labor and DP World Posorja

7.6.2019

DP World Posorja, a company owned by the Government of Dubai, which builds and will operate the first Deep Water Port in Ecuador, established an alliance with the Ministry of Labor, whose main purpose will be to promote employment through the Socio Employment Network.

With this agreement DP World Posorja will have an additional channel for the search and recruitment of personnel that will operate the Port.

The new port of DP WORLD Posorja will place the country on par with the most advanced port growth in the region and the world.

"For DP World Posorja, it is essential to establish alliances with government control entities that seek to contribute to the socio-economic development of the country and the community where we operate. Currently we have 290 employees, of which 23% belong to the area of influence, ie, Posorja, El Morro, Isla Puná, Playas, and our purpose is that through this partnership we can capture many more "says Jorge Velásquez, General Manager DP World Posorja.

By August of this year, the Port of Deep Waters of Posorja will begin the operation of Phase 1, whose investment is an estimated $ 539 million dollars financed with resources coming from the investors and credits from developing banks, like the IDB.

The initial capacity will allow serving 750 thousand containers of 20 feet per year and will generate around 500 direct work places and more than 4000 indirect ones in the country.  This project is now the largest foreign investment in Ecuador.
